The police cordon was unable to hold back the crowd. 警方的警戒線阻擋不住人群。

Put something into practice，這個片語是用來表示「將某件事情付諸行動」，也就是「實踐」的意思。

搭配詞: 片語當中的something可以是: an idea/ a plan/ advice/ proposals/ principles…etc。

應用場合: 當你想要表達實踐一個想法/計畫/建議/提案/理念等等的，你想要將事情落實地去做，而非空口說白話，就可以用這個片語來表達

例句：I admire people who put their principles into practice.

我欽佩那些能夠將理念付諸實行的人。
